MultiCare Health System is seeking an Operation Engineer I to support facility operations across its health system, including Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma. The role emphasizes safe boiler room and steam distribution work, with home-base responsibilities across multiple sites.

The position requires strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, licenses or certifications and several years of experience in plant operations, plus the ability to work on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• License/certifications required within specified timelines.
• Experience with steam, HVAC and electrical related to plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient operations of boilers, HVAC, air compressors, pumps and generators.
• Apply technical expertise with independent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Perform tasks related to boiler room and steam distribution.
• Conduct rounds and inspections of machine rooms and roof areas.
• Communicate effectively with the team and maintain service-oriented integrity.
