Job summary

ABM Industries in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Non-Union Engineer to maintain and repair critical building systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate service with vendors. This role requires ensuring safety, compliance, and reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, and other mechanical systems.

The engineer will monitor BMS, support capital projects, and uphold safety standards, with a focus on efficiency and tenant satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical cert in building systems preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building engineering or facilities management.
• EPA Universal Certification for refrigerants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Address and resolve building system malfunctions promptly to minimize disruptions.
• Escort vendors and contractors on-site, and coordinate service calls.
• Monitor building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy usage and performance.
