Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer in Irving, TX to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and controls. The role supports preventive maintenance and repairs across facilities to ensure safety and reliability.

You will work within a team under the Engineering and Technical Services function, ensuring standards, codes, and client environmental conditions are met while optimizing energy use and system performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Certificate/licensing as required by local/state jurisdictions; Universal CFC preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain energy management programs for efficient operation.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review building systems inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design compliance.
• Apply standard principles to complete complex assignments and provide solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across multiple disciplines.
• Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values.
