Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Hazleton, PA to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and life safety. The role supports preventive maintenance and emergency repairs within the Engineering and Technical Services function.

You will ensure compliance with codes and company policies, manage energy use, and mentor teammates while delivering safe, efficient facility operations for clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Licenses/certifications as required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, and control systems to keep facilities up to standards.
• Follow codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain energy management programs and ensure efficiency of systems.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow safety storage and handling procedures for hazardous materials; maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Review building systems to ensure operation aligns with design specifications and client environmental requirements.
• Apply standard principles to accomplish complex tasks and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across related disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and help build consensus to reach agreements.
• Impact activities across customer, operational, project, or service domains.
