Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and life-safety components. The role focuses on keeping facilities up to standards and supporting preventive maintenance programs.

You will apply a deep knowledge of building operations, safety procedures, and energy efficiency practices while collaborating with teams and clients to ensure reliable performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school with 4–5 years related experience.
• Must meet physical requirements and be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to analyze multiple sources and exercise judgment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and math skills for cost/utility calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program for efficient operation of systems.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials; keep work area clean.
• Review building systems inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure operation within design specs.
• Apply standard principles to complex tasks and provide solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and build consensus in line with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, and service activities within teams.
