Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pocatello, Idaho is seeking a Custodian 2 (Full time) to maintain clean, safe facilities and support daily operations.

This role performs routine cleaning, uses commercial equipment, and adheres to safety standards; on-call and possible VIP duties may arise.

Working hours are Monday 9am-5pm and Tue-Fri 8pm-4am, with physical requirements such as lifting up to 100 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must certify in the use of equipment such as sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet cleaning machinery, high rise power washers.
• Ability to understand basic instructions and perform basic tasks.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for long periods.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts.
• Ability to handle commercial cleaners and chemicals safely.
• Must communicate in English for instruction, safety, and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, and fixtures.
• Operate cleaning equipment: vacuums, polishers, buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
• Operate balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
• Clean building exteriors and carpets; dust furnishings and fixtures.
• Restock supplies and dispose of waste.
• Report safety or repair needs and attend meetings as assigned.
