Job summary

Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is seeking a dedicated Maintenance/Custodial staff member to provide janitorial and preventive maintenance for tribal buildings, including ECC and child care facilities. The role involves indoor and outdoor tasks, with potential split shifts during school years and inclement weather.

Responsibilities include cleaning, minor repairs to plumbing/electrical, and grounds care, with safety and proper chemical handling emphasized throughout.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older; HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Able to operate maintenance equipment such as floor buffer, carpet shampooer, drill, etc.
• Must pass background check; vaccines as required.
• Valid driver’s license and liability insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial and grounds maintenance, both interior and exterior.
• Carry out routine and corrective maintenance on buildings and systems.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Address minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper chemical storage.
• Assist with snow removal and outdoor grounds upkeep as needed.
