Responsibilities include:
- Performing routine and complex maintenance and repairs of all building structures, electrical systems, equipment, and grounds.
- Conducting regular preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems, including inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, lubricating bearings and seals, and repairing or replacing damaged components.
- Performing general interior maintenance such as replacing broken windows and repairing doors, locks, and closets.
- Conducting monthly inspections of the building, equipment, and grounds, maintaining detailed records of all scheduled maintenance activities.
- Performing non-licensed repairs on facility mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems and exhaust fans.
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests, including off-hours response as needed.
- Assisting other departments with building office equipment, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
- Obtaining estimates for supplies and repair parts, and ordering parts as needed.
- Overseeing scheduling and coordination with outside vendors for maintenance and improvement projects.
- Providing oversight and limited supervision to Contractors and Public Service Workers during assigned projects.
- Assisting in janitorial duties as necessary to meet department goals.
- Performing ancillary duties as required.
Profile requirements include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance and repair, including plumbing and electrical, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Moderate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, other software).
- Strong skills in using hand and power tools.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, instructions, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to operate mobility equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
- Valid driver’s license.
