Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of administrative experience in an arts related setting; or the equivalent.
  • One year of experience working on-site during live public events, providing access to patrons of all ages and abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to develop professional working relationships with students.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable with the Google Platform as well as other types of cloud‑based collaboration spaces and databases.
  • Enjoy meeting the public and solving problems that may arise in public service.
  • Commitment to working effectively as part of an equitable, anti‑racist, anti‑biased team and work environment. Related training is a plus.
  • Irregular work schedule includes primarily nights and weekends with some late nights.
  • Ability to lift, carry and move objects such as boxes of programs and stanchions.
  • Strong sense of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Informed about and compliant with ADA and PCI policies.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include planning, coordinating and implementing a wide variety of performing arts facilities and technical support.
  • Serve as liaison between event organizers, vendors and guests; monitor and maintain inventories and supplies; ensure proper equipment usage.
  • Work with Hopkins Center Facility Operations to ensure safety and proper use of facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory for supplies and use EMS, AirTable systems.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality in a welcoming environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Information

Position Title: Facilities Coordinator

Location of Position: Hanover, NH, Hopkins Center

Employment Category: Temporary Part time

Schedule: Evening and weekends required.

Position Purpose

This role is a part‑time temporary position reporting to the Facilities Manager. The coordinator serves as the technical and event staff providing support for users in the building to maximize the use of space and ensure safety and proper event protocol. The coordinator is expected to complete necessary tasks while providing high level service to ensure all facilities and equipment are fully functional, safe, clean, and code compliant.

Key Accountabilities

This position will support the operation of many programs that take place in the Top of the Hop and other venues in the Hop that are not overseen by Hop Production and Union operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, coordinating and implementing a wide variety of performing arts facilities and technical support; exercising independent judgment, initiative and responsibility to facilitate various presentations functioning as a key liaison between event organizers, vendors and guests; monitoring; maintaining various inventories and expendable supplies, ensuring proper equipment usage; and serving as liaison with Hopkins Center Facility Operations ensuring safety and use of facilities and equipment in keeping with standard professional practices. The role maintains inventory for supplies that support activities and uses systems related to facility use (e.g., EMS, AirTable).
