Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a facilities construction coordinator to support construction and refresh efforts. Most work is done with a tradesperson or carpenter, though independent work is possible.

Experience in drywall, painting, and flooring finishing is preferred, and healthcare experience is highly recommended. The typical work week is Monday–Friday with potential for nights and weekend work; site location is Grand Rapids with a 40-hour schedule and daytime shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: LIC-Driver’s License - STATE_MI.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervisors, project managers and trades to ensure quality, timely, cost-effective construction with continuity and coordination of services.
• Perform expert level communication and hands-on construction activities using measuring equipment to determine proper functions.
• Inspect and mentor apprentices; provide direction as needed.
• Document procedures and work completed accurately and timely.
• Ensure proper care and safe use of equipment; keep areas orderly, clean, and safe.
• Carry out specialty work including repair, layout, demolition and construction; review blueprints and coordinate with engineers.
• Ensure all services comply with legal specifications, codes, and organizational policies.
• Plan and coordinate workflow with other trades as a resource for building systems.
