Job summary

City of Norfolk seeks a Management Analyst II to provide analytical, financial, and contractual support to the Facilities Maintenance Division. This office-based role reports to Facilities Maintenance and collaborates with City departments and vendors to sustain budgets and improve processes.

The successful candidate will monitor operating and capital budgets, prepare detailed reports, and identify discrepancies and trends to inform decisions, ensuring internal controls and efficient service

Qualifications

• Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or related analytical work.
• Experience with evaluating financial data and preparing financial reports.
• Ability to develop recommendations to improve fiscal efficiency and organizational performance.

Responsibilities

• Performs financial and operational analysis to support Facilities Maintenance programs, projects, contracts, and departmental decision-making.
• Monitors operating and capital budgets, expenditures, account activity, encumbrances, and project-related costs; identifies discrepancies, trends, and potential concerns.
• Reviews and reconciles financial records, vendor statements, invoices, expenditures, and other supporting documentation to promote accuracy and appropriate financial controls.
• Assists with development, monitoring, and administration of the division's annual operating and capital budgets and prepares recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management.
• Coordinates with City departments, vendors, division staff, project personnel, and management to research and resolve financial, contractual, administrative, and operational issues.
