Job summary

NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD in Portsmouth, VA seeks a Management Analyst to support the Special Projects Group by planning, analyzing, and improving processes across Lifting and Handling departments. The role emphasizes data analysis, reporting, and coordination of organizational improvements.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading assessments, developing performance metrics, and communicating recommendations to leadership to drive cultural and process changes in a federal agency setting.

Qualifications

• Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting organizational performance data to support executive decision-making.
• Experience developing reports, metrics, and trend analyses.
• Experience identifying systemic issues and recommending process improvements.
• Experience leading or facilitating organizational assessments, evaluations, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience providing technical guidance and consultation to management; communicating recommendations effectively with leadership.
• Experience applying quality management principles, process improvement methodologies (e.g. lean six sigma, performance measurement, strategic planning, and organizational analysis).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, support, and execute the implementation and sustainment of Communities of Practice and Learning Cells and other methods for Lifting and Handling department processes and programs.
• Responsible for process analysis, formulation of recommendations on organizational improvements, assistance with organizational improvement implementation and follow-up assessment of improvement effectiveness.
• Analyze, evaluate and present information regarding trend analysis of metrics, data, processes and cultural program initiatives to teams and appropriate personnel.
• Collect and interpret data providing information, recommendations and proposed solutions to team members and management.
• Coordinate and track workshops, training and events focused on process improvement, cultural change and maximum use of human capital.
• Coordinate team initiatives and consensus building activities among team members, preparing reports and maintaining records.
