Job summary

The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, Virginia invites applicants for a Facilities Apprentice program. This entry-level, 24-month training program develops future Engineering professionals by pairing you with experienced technicians and giving hands-on instruction to support guest accommodations.

You will focus on guest room readiness, preventative maintenance, and guest service while collaborating with Front Office and Housekeeping to uphold Forbes Five-Star standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Trade school or vocational coursework is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• No previous hotel maintenance experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily guest room inspections before arrivals, including VIP and CIP accommodations.
• Complete minor repairs in occupied and vacant guestrooms.
• Repair doors, locks, furniture, millwork, and case goods.
• Replace lighting, switches, outlets, thermostats, and plumbing fixtures.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce guest room service calls.
• Assist with room refresh and renovation projects.
• Ensure guestrooms meet Forbes Five-Star presentation standards.
