Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an Area Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at multiple buildings within the district. You will lead Supervisors, ensure contract compliance, and implement cost controls and service standards. Strong client relations and a proactive approach are essential.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Project Manager, expanding ABM services, and maintaining safety and quality across facilities. Bilingual abilities and OSHA knowledge are assets in this role.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• 1-2 years of Supervisor experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of janitorial equipment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA required processes.
• Intermediate level of Microsoft programs.
• Valid State Driver's License for business travel.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Strong follow-up and attention to detail.
• Ability to anticipate problems and implement preventative actions.
• Flexibility for evenings and weekends when needed.
• Tech-savvy and able to use MS Office, smartphones, and internet.
• Strong verbal and written business communication.
• Good relational skills with unions.
• Understanding of service industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Area Management & Client Relations: develop work plans with Project Manager to meet contract provisions and service timelines.
• Provide customers with information on additional ABM services and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain regular contact to ensure services meet contract requirements and promote retention.
• Inform Project Manager of status and potential issues; escalate as needed.
• Increase billable services and add value through additional or periodic services.
• Ensure excellent customer service to retain clients and improve service delivery.
