Job summary

General Assembly is seeking an Instructional Design Manager to own how learning products come to life through facilitation. This client-facing role may be 100% remote with travel up to 40% for international clients or other locations.

You will define facilitation standards, build enablement and certification systems, and partner with clients to ensure delivery quality and readiness across programs and regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, facilitator enablement, training, or related field.
• 3+ years delivering live learning across virtual, hybrid, and in-person environments.
• Experience building facilitator onboarding, enablement, certification, or train-the-trainer programs.
• Experience evaluating facilitation performance and driving improvement through structured observation, coaching, rubrics, and feedback.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and how instruction translates to live facilitation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, HR, or related field; CPTD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own how learning products come to life through facilitation and client-facing delivery.
• Define facilitation standards, enablement systems, and certification processes.
• Translate instructional intent into facilitator guides and run-of-show materials.
• Partner with clients and internal teams to ensure delivery quality and readiness.
• Build scalable onboarding and enablement pathways for facilitators and SMEs.
• Continuously improve facilitation methodology, resources, and coaching practices.
