Job summary

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, the largest local interpretation & translation provider in Columbus, seeks freelance face-to-face language interpreters. Use your Thai, Taishanese, Laotian, Khmer, Cambodian, or Korean skills to help patients and clients during medical, social service, and other appointments.

As a contractor, you set your own schedule with 24/7/365 assignments available. Located in Central Ohio, you must meet program requirements, pass background checks, and provide proof of training

Qualifications

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
• Provide proof of program completion from an interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation at medical, social service and other appointments.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct during assignments.
• Assist clients and providers with language access during appointments as needed.

As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access is a great way to earn money. The more assignments you take, the more you can earn. It's perfect for those looking for a flexible schedule with good pay. Using your unique bilingual skills to help those in need who speak the language or dialect you speak is very rewarding.

What you need to know:
