Job summary

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek language interpreters for face-to-face assignments in Columbus, OH. You will provide on-site interpretation during medical, social service and other appointments, helping patients and providers communicate accurately.

As a contractor, you decide your own schedule and take assignments as available. The role offers flexible hours and the potential to earn competitively based on the number of interpretations you complete.

Qualifications

• Must be located in the Columbus, OH area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check with fingerprints and 10-panel drug screen at no cost.
• Provide proof of at least 40 hours interpreter training (e.g. Access Academy or equivalent).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site interpretation during medical, social service and other appointments.
• Interpret face-to-face for participants and providers to ensure accurate communication.
• Operate as an independent contractor with a flexible schedule and assignment selection.

As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access is a great way to earn money. Using your unique bilingual skills to help those in need who speak the language or dialect you speak is very rewarding.

Requirements

All applicants must:

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
• Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
