Job summary

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC in Columbus, OH is seeking French language interpreters for face-to-face assignments across medical, social services, and other appointments. As a contractor, you choose your own schedule, with assignments available 24/7/365, though most occur during business hours.

Demonstrate bilingual proficiency; no prior interpreting experience is required, but training of at least 40 hours and certification are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprints) and a 10-panel drug screen (at no cost).
• Provide proof of interpreter training of at least 40 hours.
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for a 3rd party evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation at medical, social service and other appointments.
• Earn money with a flexible schedule by taking assignments as available.
• Interpreting on-site for clients in Columbus and surrounding areas.

WHO WE ARE: Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is the largest local interpretation & translation business in Columbus providing interpreters and translators locally and nation-wide. Our main office is located in Downtown Columbus.

As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access is a great way to earn money. The more assignments you take, the more you can earn. It's perfect for those looking for a flexible schedule with good pay. Using your unique bilingual skills to help those in need who speak the language or dialect you speak is very rewarding.

What you need to know:

• Your bilingual skills are in high demand!
• As a contractor, you decide your own schedule!
• Assignments are available 24/7/365! (Most assignments are requested during business hours.)
• Take as many or as few of our available assignments as you can!

Requirements

All applicants must:

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).

• Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).

• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.

We also welcome those who have no previous professional interpretation experience or speak English as a second language (ESL).
