Job summary
SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a motivated Consultant to join our team in Atlanta, supporting a Senior Managing Director on building envelope issues including facades, watertightness, moisture intrusion, and mold.
This role suits an early-career professional with architecture or engineering background aiming to deepen technical expertise in forensic consulting. You will work with senior leadership on high-impact client engagements, participate in site visits and investigations, and contribute to
Qualifications
- 2–4 years in facade, building envelope, or related engineering role.
- Degree in Architecture or structural/HVAC engineering.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of facade and envelope issues.
- Support site visits, field investigations, and condition assessments.
- Review drawings to identify deficiencies contributing to moisture or envelope failures.
- Analyze building science data and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Prepare technical reports with repair/remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with architects, structural, HVAC, and facade specialists.
- Communicate findings to clients and stay updated on codes and standards.
- Manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
