Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a motivated Consultant to join our Capital Projects Advisory team, supporting a Senior Managing Director in resolving complex facade and building envelope issues for real estate assets.

This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals with architecture or engineering backgrounds to deepen technical expertise in forensic consulting while working closely with senior leadership on high-impact client engagements.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience with a facade consultant/manufacturer, architectural firm, building envelope firm, or engineering firm.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status preferred.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP/HVAC drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel for site visits/field investigations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of facade, building envelope, moisture, and mold issues for real estate clients.
• Support site visits, field investigations, and visual/physical assessments of building envelope conditions.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify design/construction deficiencies contributing to moisture or envelope failures.
• Analyze building science data and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Prepare technical reports, findings summaries, and remediation recommendations under senior supervision.
• Collaborate with architects, structural and HVAC engineers, and facade specialists.
• Communicate findings with clients and gather information as needed.
• Stay current on building codes and industry standards related to building envelope and moisture management.
• Manage multiple projects/tasks with limited supervision and keep leadership informed.
