Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a motivated Consultant to join our team, supporting a Senior Managing Director in resolving complex client issues related to facades, watertightness, moisture intrusion, and mold in real estate assets.

This early-career role offers exposure to building envelope performance and forensic consulting while collaborating with senior leadership on high-impact engagements. The position follows a 4-days-in-office with one hybrid/remote day schedule.

Qualifications

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client-ready reports.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigation and resolution of facade and building envelope issues for real estate clients.
• Support site visits, field investigations, and visual assessments of building envelope conditions.
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify deficiencies contributing to moisture or envelope failures.
• Analyze building science data and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Prepare technical reports and remediation recommendations under guidance of senior leadership.
• Collaborate with architects, structural and HVAC engineers, and facade specialists.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and present findings.
• Stay current on building codes and industry standards for envelopes and moisture control.
• Manage multiple projects with limited supervision and report progress to leadership.
