Job summary

nVent is seeking a Fabricator in Pittsburg, KS to interpret blueprints, perform layout work, and set up welding equipment for quality welds across materials. Day and night shifts, plus weekends, offer varied schedules.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with cutting torches, brushes, pads, buffers, grinders, cranes.
• At least one year of welding experience and setup of welding equipment.
• Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
• Strong safety mindset for a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and confirm job requirements with the lead person.
• Gather materials and perform layout work per specifications.
• Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.
• Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions.
• Inspect welds for quality and repair defective joints as needed.
• Operate cutting torches and manual plasma cutters when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
