Job summary

Machitech is seeking a meticulous Welder to read blueprints, prepare parts, and perform high-quality welds on an industrial manufacturing line.

You will verify dimensions, set up gas systems, select equipment, and execute welds with finishing steps while inspecting penetration and correcting defects as needed. You’ll maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to health and safety standards to keep production moving on schedule.

Qualifications

• Training and/or experience in welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand assembly sequences.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding instructions.
• Verify dimensions and compliance of parts before assembly and welding.
• Clean and polish parts to be welded as required.
• Plan the assembly sequence of components.
• Fit, assemble, and secure structures using bolts, clamps, tack welds, or other methods.
• Select and set up welding equipment and gas systems.
• Weld, brush, grind, and polish excess weld material.
• Inspect weld quality and penetration and perform corrective actions when necessary.
• Follow all occupational health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
