Job summary

SPX Cooling Technologies in Madison, AL seeks a Fabrication Supervisor to lead a metal fabrication team and oversee daily operations. You will hire, train, and motivate staff, drive continuous improvement, ensure safety, and manage on-time delivery, quality, and inventory within a fast-paced plant.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in manufacturing, and knowledge of ERP systems to optimize production and reporting. Onsite work with a focus on Lean methods and safety culture.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly, welding/machining, and quality control.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency using manufacturing software and systems for inventory management and production planning, including ERP.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry.
• Proven ability to build effective partnerships with leaders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate, supervise, and train hourly employees.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to manufacturing team, ensuring productivity and a positive working environment.
• Recruitment support by promoting open job opportunities and participating in hiring.
• Develop training plans and coach employees; conduct evaluations.
• Organize department workflow, schedules, and communicate objectives.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed and maintain a safe plant environment.
• Collaborate with production planning to prioritize schedules and ensure on-time delivery.
• Implement quality control procedures and address issues with the quality team.
• Manage inventory accuracy and optimize inventory processes.
• Use ERP and related systems to prepare planning and performance reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean principes.
• Participate in other projects aligned with department goals.
