Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, AL is seeking an Operations Manager to lead fabrication operations across multiple shifts, including machine shop and paint operations. You will develop supervisors, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and scale operations to meet customer commitments.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of manufacturing leadership, strong Lean and continuous improvement experience, plus the ability to manage budgets, throughput, and personnel development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive supervisory or operations leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading multiple shifts and production teams with measurable results.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and safety standards.
• Experience with Lean deployment and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead production supervisory teams across multiple shifts and establish operating discipline.
• Own safety performance, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Drive throughput, quality, and cost improvements with Lean methods.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Maintenance to ensure flow and uptime.
• Develop talent, conduct performance management, and succession planning.
