Job summary

Composition Brands in Greenville, MI, is seeking a Fabrication & Stamping Engineer to design, develop, implement, and improve metal fabrication and stamping processes. You will optimize tooling, dies, equipment, and methods to boost safety, quality, productivity and cost performance.

Collaborating with production, quality, maintenance, tooling, and project teams, you will drive continuous improvement across stamping, fabrication, and related operations while ensuring compliance with customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in metal stamping and fabrication.
• Experience with progressive and transfer die operations.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and die design principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain metal stamping processes for progressive, transfer, and single-hit dies.
• Analyze and improve press utilization, cycle times, and production throughput.
• Troubleshoot stamping quality issues including burrs, splits, wrinkles, dimensional variation, and material failures.
• Establish and maintain process parameters for stamping operations.
• Coordinate die tryouts and production launches for new products.
• Support transfer of tooling from prototype to full-scale production.
• Evaluate die performance and recommend design improvements.
• Develop manufacturing routings and setup documentation.
• Improve fabrication processes to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Optimize tooling, fixtures, and material flow.
• Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to improve productivity.
