We manufacture large steel products for heavy industries throughout the country, including custom job shop and production work.We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Inspector to join our growing team. This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated steel components and welds to ensure they meet drawings, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated steel componentsInspect welds for compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME, drawings, specifications, and quality requirementsReview fabrication drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and work ordersVerify dimensions, tolerances, weld sizes, and other requirements using appropriate inspection toolsPerform or coordinate applicable NDT inspections, including VT, MT, UT, PT, and RTIdentify and document nonconforming conditions and communicate findings to the Quality SupervisorComplete inspection reports, quality documentation, and required records accurately and timelyWork with Project Managers, supervisors, fabrication personnel, clients, and other inspectors to resolve quality issuesSupport quality audits and ensure required inspection procedures are followedVerify that welding and fabrication activities meet applicable specifications and requirementsFollow company safety policies and promote safe work practices3–5 years of fabrication inspection experience5-10 years of welding experienceStrong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME requirementsKnowledge of welding symbols and fabrication drawingsAbility to interpret sectional views, dimensions, tolerances, and datum pointsWorking knowledge of NDT methods and their applications, including VT, MT, UT, PT, and RTExperience with quality procedures, inspection documentation, and quality auditsAbility to use inspection tools and equipment to verify dimensional requirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of personnelProficient with email and computer-based documentationReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periodsAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to regularly move throughout the fabrication shop, including climbing ladders and accessing elevated or hard-to-reach areasAbility to safely handle inspection equipment and materialsBenefitsWe recognize people as our most valuable asset.
