Job summary

Signal Metal Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Fabrication Inspector for day shifts in Irving, TX. You will inspect fabricated steel components and welds to ensure conformance to drawings, specs, and customer requirements.

Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME, and NDT methods is essential. You will review drawings, coordinate VT/MT/UT/PT/RT inspections, document nonconformances, and support quality audits while working with project teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fabrication inspection experience.
• 5–10 years of welding experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME.
• Ability to interpret sectional views, dimensions, tolerances, and datum points.
• Proficient with inspection documentation and quality reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated steel components.
• Inspect welds for compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME, drawings, and specs.
• Review drawings, welding symbols, and work orders for accuracy.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, weld sizes, and requirements with inspection tools.
• Coordinate NDT inspections (VT, MT, UT, PT, RT) as needed.
• Identify nonconforming conditions and document findings for the Quality Supervisor.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records timely.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, supervisors, and clients to resolve issues.
