Opti Staffing in Newberg, OR is hiring a Structural Steel Fabricator for a full-time shop position. You will read blueprints, perform FCAW welding on steel framing, and complete layout, cutting, and assembly to tight tolerances.

Join a team-focused shop with overtime opportunities and a 4-day workweek. Compensation ranges from $25–$32 per hour plus overtime; excellent health benefits and IRA options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural steel fabrication and welding (D1.1 FCAW preferred).
• Ability to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead – 4G).
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Commitment to safety and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding procedures.
• Perform structural welding (FCAW) on steel framing, joints, and connections.
• Complete layout, fit-up, measuring, cutting, and assembly to tight tolerances.
• Operate shop equipment including saws, welders, grinders, and drills.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met and maintain a clean workspace.
