Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is hiring a Fab Tech Welder I for the Delhi, LA facility. The role focuses on GMAW/MIG welding of aluminum, with emphasis on wire selection, parameter setup, and quality control.

You will work in a fast-paced assembly environment, lifting up to 40 lbs, and be required to stand for long periods in non-climate-controlled conditions. Training and continuous improvement are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate the ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand on hard surfaces during shift.
• Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled temperatures.
• Commitment to participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper welding wire and alloy is used for the applicable base metal.
• Ability to change wire, rollers, tips, diffusers, nozzles and set proper tension on rollers.
• Ability to set proper welding parameters (voltage & wire speed).
• Demonstrate competency in GMAW (MIG) techniques with solid wire on aluminum in the Flat, Horizontal & Vertical Fillet Positions.
• Demonstrate competency in post welding treatment - i.e., brushing, cleaning, straightening & weld quality.
• Pass Welding Performance Test (given on-site during interview process-Q.A. determination).
• Fast paced assembly style facility.
• Ability to handle several hundred small welds applied in a single shift.

Wage: $19.98 per hour

Shifts Available: First Shift 5AM to 3PM

What you will be doing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical Training Desired with focus in Welding.


• Welding Certification, preferred.


• Ability to work in a team-based environment.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Basic math skills
