Job summary

Hydro is seeking a skilled welder for a fast-paced, on-site role in Delhi, LA. You will identify the correct welding wire and alloy, set up wires, rollers and diffusers, and control welding parameters to produce quality aluminum welds in multiple positions.

Preferred candidates have technical welding training and certification, strong teamwork, and good communication. The role involves lifting up to 40 lbs, working in non-climate-controlled temps, and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate the ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must stand on hard surfaces during shift.
• Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled temperatures.
• Commitment to participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper welding wire and alloy is used for the applicable base metal.
• Ability to change wire, rollers, tips, diffusers, nozzles and set proper tension on rollers.
• Ability to set proper welding parameters (voltage & wire speed).
• Demonstrate competency in GMAW techniques with solid wire on aluminum in the Flat, Horizontal & Vertical Fillet Positions.
• Demonstrate competency in post welding treatment – i.e., brushing, cleaning, straightening & weld quality.
• Pass Welding Performance Test (given on-site during interview process-Q.A. determination).
• Fast paced assembly style facility.
• Ability to handle several hundred small welds applied in a single shift.

• Technical Training Desired with focus in Welding.
• Welding Certification, preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math skills
