Job summary

Newport Hospitality Group is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to oversee daily hotel restaurant, bar, evening social, and banquet services in Columbus. You will work closely with leadership to ensure quality, cost control, and a welcoming guest experience.

The role combines hands-on service with coaching and event coordination, requiring hospitality expertise, strong organization, and flexibility across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of food and beverage or hospitality experience, supervisory preferred.
• Experience in hotel restaurant, bar, banquet, or catering.
• Marriott or select-service hotel experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead by example and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and responsible alcohol service.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• ServSafe or responsible alcohol service certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Supervise restaurant, bar, evening social, and banquet services.
• Team Leadership: Train, schedule, coach, and support restaurant, kitchen, bar, and banquet staff.
• Banquets & Events: Coordinate event setups and audiovisual needs.
• Guest Experience: Create a welcoming atmosphere and address guest concerns.
• Cost & Inventory Management: Assist with ordering, inventory controls, and labor management.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain proper food handling and workplace safety standards.
• Hands-On Support: Step in during busy periods to help service and operations.
