Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts in Orlando offers the Internship Program—a 10 to 12 week fast track development opportunity for college students to expand their knowledge in the hospitality industry. The Intern will shadow critical leaders, attend operational meetings, and work alongside associates to ensure day-to-day success of the department, building a foundation for a long-term career.

Qualifications

• Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to use point of service computer.
• Ability to stand for long periods with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Shadow identified leaders within the department at the hotel.
• Shadow each shift and each position within the Outlet you are assigned to at the hotel.
• Consistently attend department meetings as well as any leadership meetings at the hotel.
• Become proficient with operating the PMS and all other systems used by the Food & Beverage team.
• Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
• Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
