Job summary

Total Vision LLC is a network of optometry practices focused on delivering world-class eye-care results. We seek an optical assistant to help patients select frames and lenses, ensure accurate measurements, and discuss options to meet each patient’s needs.

You will verify benefits, dispense eyewear, and assist with repairs while supporting a collaborative team environment. A lab background is preferred and Mandarin-English bilingual ability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin; strong communication skills.
• Optical knowledge preferred or relevant experience in optics.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection and ensure proper fit for single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses.
• Educate patients on lens options, sunglasses, and various eyewear needs.
• Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage to patients.
• Dispense glasses and advise on adaptation to new prescriptions and lens types.
• Assist with repairs and adjustments and support office tasks as needed.
• Lab experience in edging, finishing, and surfacing is preferred.
