Job summary

Total Vision LLC in Hercules, CA is seeking a part-time, hourly Optician assistant to help patients select frames and lenses, verify insurances, and ensure proper fit. The role supports sales and customer service in a busy optical practice.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 2–3 years related experience; bilingual English/Tagalog is a plus. Opportunity to cross-train and work with a team in a growing practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2–3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
• Bilingual in English/Tagalog preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with proper frame and lens selection.
• Educates patients on options for clear lenses, sunglasses, and other needs.
• Ensures proper fit and measurements for various lens types.
• Educates patients on benefits of multiple glasses for eye care needs.
• Verifies patient insurance and explains benefits.
• Dispenses glasses and advises on adaptation to prescriptions and lens types.
• Helps patients with repairs and adjustments.
• Returns patient phone calls in a timely manner and informs of delays.
• Assists with other in-office tasks as needed.
• Lab experience in edging, finishing and surfacing preferred.
