Job summary

Total Vision LLC in California is seeking a detailed‑oriented optical assistant to help patients choose frames and lenses, educate them on options, and ensure correct measurements and fittings for single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses. You will verify insurance benefits, support repairs and adjustments, and assist with in‑office tasks.

Optical knowledge is preferred, and cross‑training across roles helps the team deliver world class eye care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Ability to learn and use multiple software systems.
• Familiarity with optical terminology and assessments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection.
• Educate patients on lens options and care.
• Ensure proper fit and measurements for single vision, bifocal, progressive lenses.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and explain coverage.
• Dispense glasses and assist with repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain timely communication with patients about delays or changes.
• Lab experience in edging, finishing and surfacing preferred.
• Support other office tasks as needed.
