Job summary
Total Vision LLC is seeking an optical assistant to support patients with frame and lens selection, educate on lens options, and ensure proper fit and measurements. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Optical knowledge preferred.
- Cross-training ability and flexibility in work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection.
- Educate patients on options for clear lenses and sunglasses.
- Ensure proper fit and measurements for all lens types.
- Educate patients on benefits of multiple pairs of glasses.
- Verify patient insurance and explain benefits.
- Dispense glasses and explain adaptation to prescriptions and lens types.
- Assist with repairs and adjustments.
- Ensure calls are returned promptly and inform patients of delays.
- Assist with other tasks in the office.
- Lab experience in edging, finishing and surfacing preferred.
