Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Optical Technician to enhance the Total Patient Experience by supporting medical needs while driving retail eyewear sales. This role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts, aligning prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists with patient needs.

The position involves frame selection, measurements, and operating lensometry equipment, with emphasis on accuracy and patient service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients
• Previous ophthalmic/medical office experience preferred
• ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
• Background check as required by state

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support
• Determine patient needs and sell to exceed expectations
• Assist patients in frame selection based on style and measurements
• Operate the auto-lensometer and lensometer
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs
• Take measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders using current process
