Job summary

AEG Vision in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Optical Consultant/Optician to sell eyewear and accessories, assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, and ensure accurate prescriptions and measurements. You will dispense lenses, communicate with technicians, and maintain a clean, organized store environment.

Responsibilities include taking measurements, interpreting prescriptions, and following up on orders while delivering excellent customer service and referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and strong customer service experience.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient, explains products and services.
• Develops clientele through outstanding service and referrals.
• Keeps current on products, rebates, lenses and frames.
• Takes and updates patient calls and resolves order issues with the Store Manager as needed.
• Retrieves patient charts and EHRs.
• Assists patients in selecting frames and lens types.
• Educates patients on eyeglass and contact lens care.
• Collects eye and face measurements for proper fit.
• Interprets prescriptions written by optometrists/ophthalmologists.
• Creates lab work orders and follows up on orders.
