Job summary

AEG Vision in Ladue, Missouri, is seeking an Optician to help patients choose frames, dispense lenses, and ensure proper measurements for a comfortable fit tailored to each face and lifestyle. The role blends technical skill with superior customer service in a fast-paced retail eyewear setting.

You will educate customers on eyewear care, discuss lens options (tints, coatings, and materials), interpret prescriptions from optometrists, and collaborate with lab technicians to create accurate orders

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
HIPAA knowledge preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills; sales experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations for products and services.
Develops clientele through outstanding service and referrals.
Keeps current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
Takes and returns patient calls, updates on order status, and escalates issues as needed.
Interprets prescriptions from optometrist/ophthalmologist and creates lab work orders.
Follows up on orders and informs patients of delays or arrivals from lab/manufacturer.
Inspects and adjusts eyewear for proper fit and comfort; performs eyewear repairs when needed.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the store and displays.
