Job summary

AVP•SEES Group in Texas is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage the patient journey for ophthalmic procedures. You will educate patients, schedule surgeries and pre/post-op visits, and liaise with surgeons and offices to ensure a smooth experience.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, willingness to travel to multiple offices, and the ability to handle insurance questions and care financing. A college degree and some ophthalmic or sales experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree including business-related courses (sales/marketing emphasis preferred).
• One to two years of ophthalmic/optometric experience preferred.
• One to two years of sales experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to submit to a background check (drug screen for Ambulatory Surgery Centers only).

Responsibilities

• Schedule all aspects of the surgical journey, including surgery dates, pre-operative appointments, and post-operative follow-ups.
• Explain procedures, discuss risks, and educate patients on options for elective cataract lens choices.
• Coordinate documentation, including consents, medical histories, and surgical charts.
• Verify benefits, obtain pre-certifications, explain costs, and assist with financing options.
• Serve as main point of contact with patients and collaborate with facilities, surgeons, and referring optometrists.
