Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the Ideal Eye Team-Early Vision in Early, TX. You will assist the Optometrist with eye examinations, pre-testing, patient history, and guiding patients through the clinical experience.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, proficiency with MS Office, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will manage patient flow, document records, and help with instrument use and tests under supervision.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Excellent verbal communication skills to prioritize tasks and handle inquiries.
• Excellent written communication skills to document patient visits.
• Strong interpersonal and rapport-building abilities.
• Ability to inquire about patient needs and listen effectively while handling multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and patient care, including pre-testing and history intake.
• Operate and manage clinical instruments, take measurements, and perform tests to assess visual capabilities.
• Provide instruction on contact lens insertion/removal and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications as directed.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed, while maintaining patient flow and clinic efficiency.
