Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to enhance patient experiences by preparing patients for on-site or remote exams and guiding them through pre-exam tests. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and support the initial patient journey.

The role involves hands-on support during exams, remote testing for tele-eye care, and collaboration with retail staff to ensure smooth scheduling and patient flow.

Qualifikationen

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided

Aufgaben

• Prepare patients for exams and document medical history in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results.
• Facilitate remote eye examinations including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail associates with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and preauthorize insurance.
• Schedule exams and manage appointment books, including no-shows.
• Maintain patient flow and respond to clinical questions.
• Instruct on contact lens care and manage orders.
• Maintain clean equipment and stock; travel to other locations as needed.
• Participate in training and obtain required clinical certifications.
