Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and describing each step of the process. The role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists and starts the patient journey.

The position requires at least one year of related experience and a background in optical or healthcare, with HIPAA compliance and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history and ocular data.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail staff with care plan explanations.
• Maintain clean, organized clinical supplies and equipment.
• Answer patient questions and triage ocular emergencies.
