Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of health care experience required.
• Exceptional customer service practices required.
• Ability to verbally communicate information to staff and patients in a professional, customer-focused manner.
• Experience using a computer in an office setting and familiarity with navigating EHR/EMR interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Register patients with accurate demographics and insurance information in the NextGen system.
• Verify patient insurance and obtain referrals/authorizations as needed; inform manager of coverage issues and determine payment or rescheduling in urgent cases.
• Ensure charts are signed before charges are entered.
• Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments based on physician instructions and seek clarification when needed.
• Provide patients with wait time updates and coordinate with technicians to support patient needs.
