You will coordinate optical operations, assist with frame selection, take precise measurements, and process eyewear orders while coordinating with clinics, labs and prosthetics teams.

The role emphasizes patient service, accuracy in prescriptions, and collaboration across departments to ensure timely delivery of eyewear for Veterans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Optician.
• Ability to work independently while managing responsibilities.
• Ability to identify prescription discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving optical issues and transitions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with frame selection, pricing, options and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming environment for patients making eyewear decisions.
• Perform eyewear fittings and measurements using digital pupilometers and lensometers.
• Document patient information and measurements in CPRS.
• Process eyewear orders, collect payments and enter orders into VA systems.
• Promote lens options and upgrades with a consultative approach.
• Coordinate with eye clinics, labs, prosthetics staff and vendors to track orders.
• Address customer concerns and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Maintain eyewear displays and inventory in a clean, organized manner.
