Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists to deliver stellar eye exam experiences in our stores. You will help manage a high volume of patients, complete pre-testing, and support with contact lens insertion/removal training and video-assisted exams where applicable.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
• Experience supporting doctors in a medical environment.
• Familiar with healthcare technology systems and equipment.
• Previous work experience in optometry, electronic health records (EMR), or medical care.
• Knowledgeable about eyewear and able to describe features/benefits.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport with eye exam patients.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person or video assisted eye exam appointments.
• Deliver insertion/removal training for new contact lens wearers and train others as directed by the Store Leader.
• Manage appointment flow and confirmation, outreach, and follow ups for a seamless patient experience.
• Maintain meticulous records of data collected and prepare reports for medical professionals as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance and adherence to policies.
• Maintain exam room organization, replenishing supplies and equipment cleanliness.
