Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking an Externship Coordinator to manage externship sites and ensure the program meets student needs. You will recruit and monitor extern sites, market the program to the medical community and collaborate with faculty and placement teams to place students.

The role involves maintaining compliance with regulations, coordinating orientations, and supporting students with career development and resume preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience speaking effectively before groups of students, customers or employees of organization.
• Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate externship sites are available to meet program needs.
• Recruit, develop and monitor extern sites for student assignments.
• Market the programs offered to the medical community and recruit additional externship sites.
• Coordinate and track externship site hiring of students (target 40%).
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and accreditation requirements.
• Serve as liaison between students, college faculty and the externship providers.
• Assist the Placement Coordinator in guiding students into employment post-graduation.
• Keep accurate records and update site affiliation agreements.
• Arrange externship orientation and conduct weekly site visits.
