Job summary

Eagle Railcar Services is hiring for a full-time paint technician to operate or tend painting machines on railcar equipment. You will mix paints per data sheets, inspect coating thickness, and ensure color matching per company charts, while following safety protocols.

You will handle spray guns, clean and maintain equipment, and perform quality checks throughout the process in a demanding, in-person work environment across nationwide facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of paint experience required.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
• Work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
• Must be able to read and interpret basic drawings.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Requires appropriate cleanliness for respirator use per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Spray prepared surfaces with primers or finish coatings.
• Select spray gun system for material.
• Mix paint and adjust nozzles for proper flow and thickness.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment.
• Apply primer over repairs and match colors to charts.
• Monitor for flaws and correct causes like blisters and streaks.
• Dispose of hazardous waste properly.
• Allow paint to dry and touch up missed spots.
• Move equipment to accessible areas for painting.
