Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a railcar paint shop associate to remove, repair, clean, and reapply outlet gates on hopper cars, and perform final cleaning before departure. The role supports touch up, stenciling, interior and exterior paint and blasting activities.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in the railcar industry, can lift up to 50 pounds, and will follow safety, QA, and production procedures while maintaining shop cleanliness.

Qualifications

• One year of previous experience in the railcar industry.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, clean, and reapply outlet gates on hopper cars.
• Perform final cleaning on railcars before departure.
• Assist in touch up, stenciling, interior and exterior paint and blast in the paint shop.
• Maintain housekeeping of the paint shop and follow safety policies.
• Train less experienced employees in paint shop tasks when needed.
